Reproductive Justice

At COHERINET, we fully believe that Reproductive justice is needed because legal rights alone do not guarantee that vulnerable women of reproductive age especially of low-income individuals and marginalized groups have the real ability, resources, and safety to control their own bodies and families.

Having a legal right to a service means nothing if you cannot afford it, nothing if you have no right to have children or not to have children nor the right to parent the children you have in safe and healthy environments or the right for bodily autonomy from the larger social issues.

  We are continuously pushing out for healthcare equity with affordable stigma free contraception and comprehensive abortion care services, comprehensive sex education, prenatal care, and culturally competent maternal health support among others.
  
  As achieving reproductive justice requires protecting bodily autonomy, ensuring equitable access to healthcare and resources, and dismantling the systemic oppressions that affect marginalized communities, through education, advocacy, and community-led initiatives we are continuously working on ensuring protection of bodily autonomy, expansion of friendly and quality stigma free healthcare services including guaranteed affordable, non-judgmental, and comprehensive abortion care and contraception services.
