Aunt KAKI SRHR Toll-Free Helpline Visual Counselling Option

The Community Health Rights Network (COHERINET) has incorporated Aunt KAKI SRHR Toll-Free Helpline with a visual counselling option. Talk to Aunt KAKI through the established WhatsApp number (+256 741 901782).

The visual counselling option has come in to create a more engaging multimedia face to face interaction between the counselor and the client as an avenue to strengthen the bond between the two.

Its is a  human user friendly and high performance platform equipped with empowered friendly professional medical counselors ready to offer reliable SRH information and referrals especially to the vulnerable and  marginalized women and girls of reproductive age from majorly the community grassroots levels.

Majorly offered services include:- Family planning, Comprehensive abortion care, UTIs and STDs.

The Visual Counselling services are available from 8:00am-10:00pm EAT  everyday.

COHERINET hosts SAAF

The Community Health Rights Network (COHERINET) hosted guests from Safe Abortion Action Fund (SAAF) on the 15-August-2022 at the COHERINET Premises.

The guests Mr. Andre Deponti and Miss Laura Guitirez of SAAF visited COHERINET with  the aim of laying strategies, monitoring organization  performance and attending an implementation meeting for a project coded “BREAK IT UP” which is aimed at Making Unsafe Abortion History by breaking the barriers which hinder eased provision and uptake of comprehensive abortion care services.

They were later engaged in an organized Community Dialogue that was attended by stake holders from various walks of life that included religious, cultural, community local leaders, Sex workers, vulnerable women and beneficiaries of the recently concluded SAAF funded project.

Mr. Andre Deponti and Miss Laura Guitirez also officiated the ceremony of commissioning the  four years journey of the BREAK IT UP project. The theme and goal is Making Unsafe Abortion History

Coherinet in West Nile

The COHERINET team led by Mr. Musa Yiga the team leader and Fatuma Nakalembe the Community Outreach manager stormed the West Nile region of Uganda to ensure that all marginalized and vulnerable women and girls have access to accurate, reliable, and timely Sexual Reproductive Health information and services mainly focusing on the grass root level communities.

They covered Arua district, Arua city, Koboko district, Yumbe District and Moyo District thoroughly equipping the women there with sexual reproductive health information and as well promoting the various family planning commodities and providing services. The team also held activations and organized integrated sessions at various Health facilities and community gatherings as a strategy to engage every one because “SRHR is For all”

The AUNT KAKI SRHR Toll-Free Helpline was also promoted to ensure that these women and girls get 24/7 first hand information and referral for services.

 Increasing Access to Sexual Reproductive Health commodities and services through private sector channels in Uganda.

Score Card at Akugoba

COHERINET conducted a score card session at Akugoba Maternity Clinic-Kawempe in a project aimed at Mobilizing Grass root communities to Reduce Maternal Mortality led by  Mirembe Mariam the Project Coordinator focusing on  monitoring the uptake of SRH  services, empowering marginalized women and girls, and improving  the accountability of service providers at the Facility.

The  exercises provided the women and girls in reproductive age with  the opportunity to analyze services such as Family Planning, Post Abortion Care and Comprehensive Abortion Care.

“Most of these women are biased that is why  we need more of such sessions to educate them and get  their personal perceptions towards Sexual Reproductive Health Commodities and Services.”  Mirembe Mariam

The SRH service providers  were also  encouraged to continue with the good work and the a common collaboration between rights holders and duty bearers, the provision of SRHR services can sustainably change for the better.

Training of Community Peers

The COHERINET team led by Mr. Yiga Musa recently held a training of community peers from the districts of Kalangala, Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono and Mpigi.

They were equipped with communication skills, leadership skills,  financial management skills, community approach skills, to mention but a few.

They were later  flagged off by Mr. Antonio Cazeres Turcott the country manager of DKT Uganda who also Commissioned the Community Service and support  Van.

All this  in a project aimed at Increasing Access to Sexual Reproductive Health Rights Commodities and Services Through Private Sector Channels in Uganda.
